One of Those Days...

Today was a day where I was not motivated to do anything, every piece of clothing I put on didn't look right, I hated the outfit I had on, my hair did not do what I wanted it to; I didn't want to spend 4 hours driving to the airport and back home but praying during this day helped me get through it. I decided to find stuff to be thankful for rather than complain about and now, close to bedtime, I feel upbeat and greatful for so, so many things. I'm looking forward to tomorrow!

SEI-Couture

In my blog surfing I dropped in on the sei-lifestyle blog and came across this sketch challenge.

It's a great sketch and I've been wanting to use my May Scrapshotz kit which coincidentally just happened to be the SEI Couture line. I scrapped these photos of my 3 boys using patterned papers and the flower and butterfly from SEI. The glitter cardstock is from my Scrapshotz kit as well and it's glitter that does not flake off the paper AT ALL. It's by Best Creations and it's fantastic! The title is American Crafts Thickers and I embossed a Tim Holtz grungeboard heart and finished the heart off with Glimmer Mist in Electric Blue. The fantastic sketch made this come together super easy and also easy to participate in the sei link party!

Thanks for taking a look!

Sweet Treats!

This layout is about a pre-Christmas trip to the European bakery and the kids were thrilled with their Chrismas treats. Two ladybugs and a swan. Yummy!

I used Echo park and Bo Bunny along with a Doodlebug alpha and some Making Memories alphas as well. The stitching was hand done with the help of my Sew Easy tool.

Round and Round...

we go with  a cold bug in our home. Just when it seems like we've all managed to get over it, someone else starts up again. This time it's me. I've been out for the count all day and plan to head up to bed shortly. I'm thankful for a super helpful husband when I feel bad. What bugs me the most is I've had zero energy to hit my craft room and the pouring rain makes indoor activities super attractive! I'm going to remain positive and look forward to a great, healthy day tomorrow!

Here's a Christmas layout I finished last week using Echo Park with a bit of Bo Bunny bling thrown in. The ornament on the l.h.side is a Sizzix die.

Here's another winter layout, again using Echo Park with twine from The Twinery thrown in as well. Love  how well the snowflake border sticker worked as a banner.
I'll have a couple more to share tomorrow!

Project 12-April

I have had a lot more time the last few days to play with my scrapping supplies so I was excited to get to April's Project 12 layout.

Here is the sketch from Scrapbook and Cards Today

and here is my April layout:

I used cardstock from Bazzill, pp & butterflies from SEI, butterflies are accented with Stickles; alphas are  AC Thickers. I punched the border strip with a Fiskars border punch. The small alphas up top are Kaisercraft and I used Ek Success and Martha Stewart punches on the paper edges uner the small alphas.
I added some pen stitching as sell. Blossoms are by Petaloo.

SCRAPSHOTZ Anything But Challenge

The gals at Scrapshotz come up with some fabulous challenges and last week Gail posted this one to use 2 sheets of coordinating patterned paper to create a card. What a fantastic idea!

Here's what I created from these WRMK Over the Rainbow papers,

You can see where I cut out the sentiment for the card.
Here is what I came up with:

I ran the base layer through my Vagabond using a Cuttlebug embossing folder and then sprayed it with Glimmer Mist. I added some iRock gems with my iRock tool to the flowers I hand cut from the patterned paper. I cropped the photo a bit too tight so it's hard to see that the outside edges are rounded.

Another Win

So DS#2's team is now 6-1 with another win tonight. Jack did not have a great night at the plate, 2 K's, one  groundout and one walk. I was able to take some photos so we looked through them and checked out his stance and swing. So cool to be able to do that. We pinpointed a couple of things he can change so hopefully that will get him driving the ball, he's the lead off batter so his job is to get on base!!!

I managed to get a few great shots, still learning my camera that I got for my birthday last year so I will be trying it out again at future games. Love learning new things about becoming a decent photographer!

PROJECT 12-MARCH

It's better late than never I managed to finish my March layout at NSD.
I used Echo Park on a Basic Grey background, Thickers for the title and my nifty iRock tool and gems and  a Martha Stewart border punch for the edge. Not much for embellies but it's done and I have April waiting to be scrapped this week!

Day 5 of...

8 straight days in a row at the baseball diamond today. It's a huge monkey wrench in my ability to scrapbook! Good thing I have a scrapbook day with a girlfriend on Friday, I'll get my fix in then!

I tried to take some photos at the game the other day but the wind started howling and blowing the shale around so I put my camera away after only a few shots during the warm up. I didn't want to risk getting any dirt in it. I'm going to try again at tonight's game. The camera I got for my birthday shoots 5.3 fps instead of the 3 fps my other camera shot so I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of shots I can get.

Here are a few layouts I've created over the last couple of weeks.

An Evening Off

It's a surprise evening off from baseball, for me anyways, DH is out with our oldest. Son #2 is sick with the stomach flu so he wasn't able to go to his game today. Thought I'd pop in for a quick post in between using my time to pack for the Scrapshotz National Scrapbooking Day crop on Saturday and sending out emails to baseball parents for uniform deposits.
I'm bummed Son#2 couldn't make his game. I really love watching him play and his team looks like a great team this season. Of course his next game is on Saturday, my scrapping day so I'll pop in to his game for a bit, I'll still get at least 10 hours of scrapping in!
Here are a couple of projects I was able to complete this weekend in between baseball practices!
