This weeks sketch was a perfect fit for the Scrapshotz online crop as one of the challenges was to incorporate a banner. Here's my layout using Teresa Collins paper and die cuts, American Crafts cardstock, The Twinery twine and Maya Road mist.
Thanks for looking! :)

Sketchy Thursday 10.20
Here's my latest creation based on the latest Sketchy Thursdays sketch:
I used all Crate Paper with a wee bit of Coredinations cardstock thrown in. I used the Sew Easy for the stitching and then distressed the piece with a sanding file.

Smashed!!!!
This is a good kind of smashed, really!!!
I tend to hang on to lots of different things and keep them under the phone in my home office and you can imagine how that piles up quickly!
This is where the Smash book comes in; it's the perfect place to keep gift receipts, cool clothing tags and all sorts of bits and pieces that I wouldn't put on a scrapbook layout but don't want to throw away.
I purchased the black folio and here's what it looks like so far:
Front cover embellished with Ali Edward stamps, Fancy Pants rub ons and Tim Holtz tissue tape.
Love the tabs and defining sections in my book and the best part is the pre-printed pages like this one!
Just a few things I was working on this particular week.
I've added photos and tags from some of my summer shopping. Love the Smash tape!
Some bits and pieces from my Creative Escape trip :)
Tags from some of my purchases...
I included some stray photos and a drawing my daughter did in Grade 1 that I didn't want to throw out :)
Thanks for taking a look at my Smash book!!

November Add Ons are Up...
are up at Scrapshotz along with a bunch of new products including the Smash Folio-Mini!!!
Add-ons are available to kit subscribers only until November 21st at which point any one can purchase, so if you see something you like, consider subscribing! It's a great value as you receive lots of product, my favorite being 2 sheets of each colour of cardstock so you can make double page layouts!!

Tag, You're IT!!!
If you like challenges, layout tag at Scrapshotz is full of them this weekend! We're playing layout tag and card tag where you create your project based on the what the person before you does. We added a twist by asking participants to also incorporate one of the monthly Creative Team challenges for the layout tag and one of the Card Crew challenges for the card tag. There's still time to join us! Here is my layout and my card if that inspires anyone to join in!
I've been loving the Glimmer Mist lately and loved using a Prima mask I haven't had a chance to use yet.
Here's my card, no mist on this though ;)
Thanks for looking and hope you join us for a game of tag!

Creative Escape Projects #2
Sitting here in my cold house today, I'm thinking how nice it would be to back in 100+ degree temps like I was in Arizona during Creative Escape. I could solve the problem by turning the furnace on but that's like admitting winter is on it's way :). I'll have to do it sooner or later but I'm aiming for later ;) .
I completely impressed myself by building a fire myself in the wood stove with only one flyer for paper! That will help warm up the house and looking at my CE projects will bring back som warm memories too.
These layouts were the projects we created in Vicki Boutin's class.
We used a crayon resist technique, glimmer mist, stamping and pen work. All things I don't often use so it was fun to do so and now I have two layouts just waiting for the right photos! Hope I don't end up hoarding them like I do with all my favorite papers :)

Sketchy Thursday 10.6
This fabulous sketch:
I used a whole bunch of Little Yellow Bicycle with the addition of some pearls and twine. All the items are from a past Scrapshotz monthly kit. I had to use a wee of Glimmer Mist too.
Another great sketch from Sketchy Thursdays!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!
It's Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada so I've had a family filled last couple of days. We've had a great time!!! Got to cook a turkey and bring it over to my mom's on Saturday, too bad BOTH my camera batteries needed to be charged so I had to rely on Jack's iPod and my Blackberry for photos but I haven't uploaded them yet. Anyways...considering our last family get together with my mom ended up in a anaphalactic episode with Cole, this holiday was AWESOME!!! My turkey turned out fabulous, my brother was there (we thought he wouldn't be able to make it) and we had a fun time together!
We started out Sunday with a mad dash to church which was so worth the effort!!! Learned lots!!! Then it was home to grab a small bite and relax before our Neustaedter Thanksgiving meal. We had a great time! Wonderful food; my SIL L. makes the BEST salads and she brought a kale salad with avocados that was amazing!!! The kids loved playing with the animals, collecting the eggs and playing hide and seek together. Here are a few photos of our time together:
sweetie pie, Peyton
Ray, reliving 4H days...
Cole and Blake playing on the way to Uncle Gerry and Auntie Grace's
kids with Uncle Gerry's calf and goats
me and my kidlets :)
Peyton is thankful she could play, snuggle and love the cats as she so wishes she could have one for a pet-but mom is allergic to cats...
I am so thankful for my family-kids and especially my husband-he works so hard to support our family and give us happy holidays. I am so thankful for my family-the fact I'm 40+ years old and still have my mom here; that my kids have grandparents and lots of aunties, uncles and cousins around the world!!! Most of all, I'm thankful that I HAVE Jesus in my life and the freedom to worship and speak about my God!!!
Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Christmas Countdown Calendar
Seems kind of early to talk about this but if you want to make it you will have get after it quickly as the advent calendars were big sellers at a recent trade show.
I was asked to do up a Karen Foster countdown calendar for display in the Scrapshotz booth at the Canadian Scrapbooker sponsered "Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnival". It came together very quickly, just a couple of evenings and I'm thrilled with the results!
I used Echo Park "Wintertime" collection which was the Scrapshotz monthly kit from December 2010, photos on a few boxes and added bazzil chipboard misted with glimmer mist and maya road mist. I've also added some bling and bits of may arts ribbon here and there and topped it off with a Maya Road chipboard die cut. This was lots of fun and now I want to make another :).

Sketchy Thursday 9.29
First chance I've had to play along with Sketchy Thursdays in awhile and I really enjoyed myself with this sketch:
and here is my layout:
I LOVED all the journaling room on this sketch and since my Scrapshotz October kit was handy I used the lovely SEI products in that kit along with some glimmer mist and an Imaginisce Roly Rosie fabric flower that I misted with the kit Pumpkin Patch glimmer mist.
Love that I was able to make this work with Lorraine's Scrapshotz October CT challenge as well.
Thanks for taking a look!
