All that Glitters

Hello!

Back today sharing another card, this one created for the Altenew Celebration Stencil Techniques class:

I used the Altenew Cube Builder Stencil and Elizabeth Craft Designs Microfine glitter. I began by applying double sided adhesive to white card stock, removed the release paper and laid the stencil on top. I began with the dark green glitter first and worked from dart to light glitter colours, burnishing the glitter before removing the stencil and realigning for the lighter green glitter.

The last layer is warm white glitter. I then used Distress Ink in Twisted Citron to stamp 3 balloons from the Birthday Greetings set along with the sentiment in Jet Black Crisp Dye ink.

A scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Confetti add to the celebratory feel of this card.

Thanks so much for stopping by ๐Ÿ˜Š.

Hello

Hi Friends!

I am back with another card post, this time featuring the Altenew Peony Bouquet stamp set which is one of the stamps demonstrated in the Altenew All About Layering 2 class.

I stamped these flowers with Altenew Crisp Dye Inks in Blush, Rouge, Crimson and Velvet. The leaves are stamped with Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades and Evergreen.

The background die cut is the Quatrefoil cutting plate by Taylored Expressions.

I covered the flowers, leaves and sentiment with Wink of Stella Clear Glitter which is hard to capture in a photo. If you look closely at the upper left of this photo you may be able to see a hint of the glitter.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop in, it's very much appreciated๐Ÿ˜Š

Big Island

Hello All!

I am just about finished my level 1 Altenew Educator Certification classes, here's my project for the All About Layering class.

I stamped blooms from Altenew Vintage Flowers, Whimsical Flowers and Layered Lilies stamp sets.

Images were die cut with matching dies except for the Whimsical Flower images, I chose to fussy cut those.

Here's a close up of the lilies.

I finished the layout with a title in black letters and black gems to keep the focus on the tropical colours of the flowers.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Shine

Hi!

This card is all about sparkle and shine courtesy of the Altenew Let It Shine class.

I stamped the circles in Altenew Crisp Dye Jet Black Ink using the Altenew Pattern Play Circles stamp.

I then stamped solid circles in various sizes from the stamp set and heat embossed with Recollections Gold embossing powder, Stampendous Silver embossing powder, Altenew Crisp Platinum embossing powder and The Ton Rose Gold embossing powder.

The Ton silver adhesive paper edges the top and left side of the card front. Sentiment is stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink, coated with clear embossing powder and heat set.

Studio Katia black gems, gold sequins and clear drops add more shine.

Thanks for taking a look๐Ÿ˜€

Easy Ink Blending Techniques

Hi All!

A couple more cards to share with you today, inspired by the Altenew Easy Ink Blending Techniques class.

I had sooooo much fun making these cards and knew exactly what I wanted to create after watching the lessons in the class.
For the card on the right, I inked a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of white card stock with Altenew Crisp Dye Ink in Morning Frost and Evening Grey. I stamped and die cut the blooms and leaves using Altenew Vintage Flowers stamps and dies

I used Crisp Dye Inks in Buttercream and Mango Smoothie for the flowers and Frayed Leaf and Forest Glades for the leaves. The sympathy sentiment is a stamp in my stash. I popped up one of the die cut flowers with foam tape and added a few Studio Katia clear drops.

The card on the left also uses the Altenew Vintage Flowers stamp set. I created a floral background on white card stack with various stamps from the set, using layering stamps for the purple blooms. The floral panel is then cut on the diagonal and layered over a card stock ink blend of Crisp Dye Ink Buttercream and Mango Smoothie with foam tape.

I die cut the word "happy" 5 times with a die from my stash, the top layer from an inked piece of card stock. They were all glued together with a glue pen. Lastly, I filled in the white spaces with Studio Katia Sparkling Sequins.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by!

Clean and Simple

Hello!

I have been on a card making roll lately working on my Level 1 Altenew Education Certification. It's great to build up my card stash, I donated all I had made over the past couple years so my box is empty๐Ÿ˜Š.

These cards were made for the Altenew Clean and Simple Boutique cards class.

I stamped these butterflies using the Altenew Painted Butterflies stamp set.

I then watercolored the butterflies with Gansai Tambei watercolours.

I used the sentiment from the Altenew Magnolias for Her stamp set.

This card was super simple to make. I used the balloon stamps from the Altenew Birthday Greetings set using Altenew Crisp Dye Inks in Buttercream, Seaglass and Morning Frost.

I stamped a sentiment from the Birthday Bash set in Versafine Onyx Black, coated in clear embossing powder and heat embossed; a few black gems complete this simple card.

Thanks for stopping by ๐Ÿ˜Š.

For the Guys...

I never have enough masculine cards so I was super excited for the Altenew For the Guys course
The first lesson was about geometrics so I couldn't wait to use the Altenew Building Blocks stamp set

I began by laying out the stamps on a piece of 4"x 5.25" white card stock in a random pattern. I then choose 3 colours of Altenew Crisp Dye Ink in Buttercream, Sea Glass and Morning Frost. I stamped the yellow blocks first, removed those stamps and placed the stamps I wanted blue images for and stamped those and then the grey. I took a picture of my original layout of stamps before stamping so I would be able to remember my layout.

{supplies: Altenew Building Blocks & Best Dad Stamp, Crisp Dye Ink in Buttercream, Sea Glass, Morning Frost and Jet Black; MFT-Circle Die ; Sequins Dollar Store; Prima-Glass Beads; HOTP-Acetate sheet}

I then added a touch of black with the square stamp from the set. I decided to turn this into a shaker card and die cut a circle with a circle die.

I used masculine shades of sequins and glass beads for the shaker portion.

The sentiment is from the Altenew Best Dad stamp set.

Thanks for stopping in and taking a look!

Seasonal Scene Building Card

I am sharing another card as I work through the 10 Altenew Academy classes required for my Altenew Educator Certification. This card is for the Seasonal Scene Building class, if you've never taken an Altenew class I highly recommend them. While I am just sharing one card I made for the class, this class had 6 in depth step by step videos so you are introduced to 6 different lessons using various techniques to create a scene on your cards.

I first stamped the branch using the Altenew Under the Cherry Blossom stamp and then stamped the blooms. I then stamped the same image on Post It paper and fussy cut it to create a mask to place over my image.
After placing the mask I applied Distress Oxide Ink in Fossilized Amber, Cracked Pistachio and Chipped Sapphire to create a night time scene.

I turned this in to a shaker by first cutting a rectangular frame, then cut a piece of acetate the same size as the frame. I glued the acetate to the frame then added foam tape as close to the inner edge of the frame without being visible. I then layed the the frame face down so the foam tape was facing me, peeled off the tape and sprinkled a variety of sequins and beads on the acetate and finished it off by placing the stamped panel on the foam tape. Always press firmly to ensure there are no gaps between the tape and the paper or you'll lose sequins! I've learned that from experience ๐Ÿ˜‰.

Irresistible Inking Techniques - Altenew Class Project

Hello!

I had so much fun creating this card for my Altenew Educator Certification, this one for the Irresistible Inking Techniques class.

{Supplies: Altenew Wild Hibiscus stamp set; Studio Katia clear drops; Altenew Crisp Dye Inks}

I applied Altenew Crisp Dye ink in Firebrick to an acrylic block, spritzed with water and then stamped on white card stock. The blooms were stamped with Versamark ink and gold heat embossed.

I then watercolored the flowers with crisp dye ink in Mountain Mist, Lagoon and Emerald. Once dry, I  arranged the flowers over the inked block stamp, popping up one with foam tape. Clear crystal drops along with the heat embossed sentiment finish off the card.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look!

Easy Die Cutting...Negative Die Cuts

Hi All!

I am working my way through the Altenew Easy Die Cutting class and have another card to share with you focusing on negative die cuts!

I used dies from the Persian Motifs die set to die cut white card stock. The die cut card stock was then randomly stamped with the Altenew Snowing stamp in Versamark Ink, sprinkled with Recollections Gold embossing powder and heat set.

I layered the die cut over Altenew Cherry Wood specialty paper, trimmed the piece to fit inside a royal blue 5.5" x 4.25" folded card base.

Sentiment is stamped with one of the first Altenew stamps I purchased, Label Love and embellished with Teresa Collins sequins, Pretty Pink Posh Confetti and gold thread from The Ton.

This was a fun card to make and super cool to use the dies for more than cutting out the matching stamps.

Thanks for taking a look๐Ÿ˜.

Easy Die Cutting....Matching Stamps and Dies

Hello!

So when I take an online class I love to attempt an assignment for each lesson, the final product is great sometimes...and not so much other times.

That brings me to this card...I decided to die cut the shape first and then stamp the image, which I never do so this class was a good opportunity to try it out.

I am awful at stamping on a die cut as you can see on this card...

I added sequins, inking on the back of vellum butterflies and a heat embossed sentiment to draw the eye away from the imperfect stamping and embossing.

I always stamp and then die cut so it was enlightening to try out the opposite but, not surprising, that die cutting the image first and then "attempting"to stamp was not a great success. It's a learning experience so I hope you have learned along with me :)

Easy Die Cutting Techniques...Stencilling with Dies

Hello Crafting Friends!

Sharing a card with you using dies as stencils, one of the techniques taught in the Altenew Easy Die Cutting Techniques class.

I've used the leaf dies from the Beautiful Day die set to create a stencil, through which I've applied Altenew Frayed Leaf ink with a mini ink blending tool. The flower is stamped with the Beautiful Day stamp using Altenew Lavender Fields, Deep Iris and Midnight Violet Crisp Ink.

I then die cut the stencilled base with a Hero Arts Rectangle basics die and die cut the flower with the matching Beautiful Day die.

Two Hero Arts dies in varying sizes created the rectangle frame cut out of glitter card stock. 'Everything' is cut with the Halftone Everything die from white card stock and silver card stock.

Strips of purple card stock covered with Spectrum Noir sparkle pen bookend the frame along with touches of sparkle on the flower. Pretty Pink Posh confetti arranged around the bloom add a little more shine๐Ÿ˜Š, I love shiny, sparkly things ๐Ÿ˜€.

This project is a submission for the Altenew Educator Certification Program.

Thanks for taking a look :)!
