I often struggle to create sympathy cards that just hit the right 'tone'. While in the midst of organizing my Altenew products and watching a Jennifer McGuire video I came across the Antique Engravings cover die and decided to to create a die cut inlay card.
The outline image was die cut from grey card stock with the Antique Engravings cover die and then adhered to white card stock with liquid adhesive. I then applied Cut N Bond double sided adhesive to the back side the green leafy paper from the Altenew 6x6 Sweet Moments paper pack and ran this through my die cut machine.
The grey die cut is then adhered to a 5 1/4" x 4" white card stock and pieces from the patterned paper are inlaid within the negative spaces of the die cut.
I did have some trouble with some of the smaller pieces of the die cut but since the outline is glued on to white card stock it's not noticeable as the pattern paper has a lot of white space.
The sentiment is from the Wildflower Garden stamp set and it's heat embossed with Pure White Embossing powder.
Lastly, I added 3 frames cut from black card stock with the Fine Frames Cover Die to frame the entire image.
Inlaying the patterned paper means I have a patterned paper die cut to use so I created a second sympathy card, I love techniques that make it possible to create two cards quickly, means efficient crafting :).
This one is super simple, just adhered the die cut to a grey notecard, stamped the sentiment from Birchland stamp set which just happens to be on sale right now :).
I added a few navy pearls from my stash to complete the card.
Thanks for popping in and taking a look!
Happy Crafting!
