Hello! It's Altenew Craft-A-Flower release day!

You should have arrived here from Preeti's blog.

Each flower is unique on its own and these layered dies provide many opportunities to get a unique looking floral. I'm sharing 3 easy ways to "craft" your Cosmos flowers and really any 3D layered flower die.
Washi Tape
I applied all four colors of Tea Party washi tape to white card stock, this a great way to use those small leftovers we crafters tend to hang on to and often don't get around to using. Then cut the bottom layer from the lightest color of washi tape, the second layer from both the darker mid-tone and light mid-tone, and the third layer of the petal from the darkest tape.
The leaves are cut from scraps of green card stock in my stash and then both flowers and leaves are arranged within the negative space of a Stacked Diamonds Cover Die die cut that I partially cut from Gold Mirror card stock for a different project.
I hand drew a black line from the top of the die cut space to the bottom and embellished with black crystals from my stash after stamping the Best Sentiments stamp set. Inked Papers
Inking white card stock is a super easy way to customize colors for your Craft A Flowers.
I inked white card stock first and then did all the die cutting. The colors used from left to right, bottom up are:
The flower centers are die cut from orange and yellow card stock. The flowers are then adhered to a piece of paper from the Summer Garden 6x6 paper pack.
The paper has a watercolor-y look so I used the Emerald Watercolor Brush Marker from the Winter Wonderland set to add watercolored stems by hand.
Patterned Paper
Patterned paper is another easy way to create unique looking floral layers. These layers are die cut from papers in the Blushing Blooms 6x6 Paper Pack.
You want to choose patterns that range from light to dark to create the layers that are darker towards the center of the flower. I applied Iceberg ink through the Molded Lines Stencil to add some color to the background.
I so appreciate you taking the time to stop by and leave a comment.

This craft flower cosmos die is awesome and I absolutely adore your cards!
All three methods really provide a wide variety of flowers. I can't wait to use the washi tape idea as I have several shaded sets. Patterned paper always gives such striking results when I see someone else's application of it. Thanks for the great ideas.
Awesome color combos and dimension with these pretty layered flowers! These look fabulous!
Lovely color combos. The backgrounds are fabulous paired with the beautiful layered flowers. My fav is the black and white background, the flowers look gorgeous with the simplicticity of the shapes.

Such great ideas and colors. Thank you for sharing.
What a great way to recycle and use up scraps of paper and washi! It is so interesting to see all the possibilities creativity can take us with bits and pieces we have forgotten about :-)
It never occurred to me to use washi tape or patterned cardstock with these create a flower dies. I cannot wait to try these techniques on my stash from Altenew. I get frustrated that the subscription never lets us have the paper and that the paper is always out of stock. So now I’m going to try what you suggested and use my Altenew inks to create my own inked cardstock so I can get a deep, medium and light flower without cardstock gradients I can’t get! Than you for such a simple but brilliant idea.
Stunning cards. I love those beautiful, colorful cosmos blooms.
Beautiful, I love the use of pattern paper.
Wow! Beautiful cards! I love the blue background on the Sending Hugs card! And, the patterned paper flowers are gorgeous!
