Altenew Build-A-Flower: Wild Rose Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($200 in total prizes)

Hi Crafty Friends and welcome to the latest Build-A-Flower release...WILD ROSE!

You should be here from Preeti Chandran's blog.

I'm thrilled to take part in the hop which begins at the Altenew Card Blog.

If you're a lover of wild roses, this set will hit the mark! This stamp set features a beautiful wild rose with cupped semidouble flowers. The flower image includes an outline layer and three coloring layers for the petals and the stamens. There is also has a branch bearing five leaves with an outline layer and three coloring layers. Eight uplifting sentiments and a couple of mini flower clusters finish off the set.

Projects

The Wild Rose is our provincial flower here in Alberta, Canada and our license plates say "Wild Rose Country" so this stamp set provides the perfect accents for this layout!

The small clusters are stamped on the base in Gray Denim Crisp Dye ink, I also added Sea Breeze Crisp Dye ink through the Feeling Dotty stencil.

One set of blooms are stamped in Baby Pink, Fuschia and Magenta Crisp Dye inks, while the other set is stamped in Pink Diamond, Baby Pink and Pinkalicious. I used Buttercream, Warm Sunshine and Snapdragon for the centers and Firefly, Grass Field and Mountain Pine for the leaves.

The title is die cut with the Fine Alphabet Die set out of paper from the Essential Black and White paper pack. I cut 1/4" strips from Gold Foil cardstock and adhered a couple of the roses with Instant Dimension Foam tape and finished it off with Cherry Blossom Enamel dots.

These are blooms I stamped for the layout but didn't use, layering them over a watercolored background. To create the background I masked a watercolor piece with masking tape and then applied watercolor ink.

The gold accents are Gold Foil cardstock strips and Antique Gold sequins.

Red Sunset Gradient Cardstock is cut into strips, adhered to white cardstock, overhaning edges trimmed and then the entire piece treated with an anti-static powder tool.  The outline image is stamped in Clear Embossing Ink and then heat embossed with Rose Gold Embossing powder.

The embossed piece is backed with craft foam, layered over white cardstock cut with the Nesting Slim Rectangles die set and thanks is the Bold Thanks Die.
