Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Saturday Challenge #621-Sparkle!

at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps !

Are you ready for another fun and krafty challenge to inspire you and help get your creative juices flowing?

We've got some fabulous ideas for you

This week, Krafty Girl Keri is your hostess and her challenge theme for you is: 

SPARKLE!

(Glitter, Glimmer, Foiling... you get the idea!) 

I used Pixie Spray to adhere the Magical Mosaic stencil to white card stock and then outlined a rainbow colour with Altenew Hawaiian Shore Brush and Fine Tip Pens.

I then added shading by dotting with the fine tip of the pen and after, applied Lawn Fawn Fairy Dust Stencil Paste.

I love sparkle but it's tough to photograph, I think you can see it in this image.

I also coated the circle sentiment with Wink of Stella Clear Glitter marker.

Each and every Saturday we post a brand new challenge for the week and you are welcome to enter as many times as you like.

Altenew Color Therapy Blog Hop and Giveaway!

If you're tuning in to this hop you probably enjoy relaxing through crafting and you should have arrived from Joylita DSouza's blog. The hop starts at the Altenew card blog, HERE.

Sitting down and coloring is one of the most relaxing things to do for me, and I know that's because it brings back past memories of being a child and being able to do nothing but break out the coloring books and crayons.

It's a wee bit harder to find the time to color as an adult but it's always a relaxing exercise when one can do so.

Altenew includes a thank you card with every order that is designed for you to color in so no stamping necessary, just pull out your coloring medium of choice!

I've used the Woodless Coloring Pencils with this image. This is the first time I've colored one of these cards in and, full disclosure, it has a very smooth finish which is my coloring is very light as I used a light hand to layer it on.

I love the pastel look a light hand and the texture of the card produces. You could create a darker intensity by starting with a base layer of very light Artist Marker shades in the areas and then layer your colored pencils over top.

You should have arrived via the lovely Virgina Lu's blog. I hope you're enjoying all the projects so far, I'm excited to share my projects with you but before we get started let's talk prizes!

Now on to the projects! At some point in the future I would love to make a quilt with these beautiful fabrics, maybe once more patterns are released :).

Since I'm not a quick sewer I choose to make fabric butterflies for this home decor piece.

It's hard to see in the photo but I also painted Glitter Mod Podge on the butterfly wings to add some sparkle.

I mixed blue and black latex paint, painted on to a 12x12 canvas, misted with water and then tilted the canvas for the paint to drip down the canvas. Once the paint was dry I added gold splatters with the Altenew Metallic Watercolor, then adhered the butterflies with a hot glue gun.

Here you can see the glitter Mod Podge on the butterfly wings. I finished the piece off with a bible verse die cut from Gold Mirror cardstock and the Fine Alphabet die set.

If you're not a sewer but love these Altenew fabrics, you can also incorporate them in your paper crafting projects!

I created this layout using the fabrics as I would patterned paper. The fabric is painted with matte Mod Podge to minimize fraying.

The pink fabric is coated with glitter Mod Podge :).

I fussy cut a couple of blooms from the floral fabric and used them to "frame" the photo.

The fabric butterflies embellish the layout along with Antique Gold Sequins.

The title is die cut with the Bold Caps Alpha dies and Gold Foil cardstock.

Sabrina's musical frog friends are sure to bring a smile to anyone with their sweet melodies!

I coloured the stamped images with Copic markers and then fussy cut.

The background is inked with Kraftin' Kimmie Hybrid inks and I've "built" the pond with Hello Bluebird Pond Builder die set.

A few of the add-on bundle enamel dots add the finishing touch to this card :).

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps February Krafty Peeks...Day THREE! Special Delivery!

 

   Today is our third day of Krafty Peeks for the February Release

Today we are 'peeking' a fabulous set 

from artist Michelle Houghton

 and it's called.....

These cute snails might be slow - but it's going to be worth the wait!! 

This is a super fun stamp and I love the talented Michelle Houghton's take on snails!

I created a slimline card and coordinated envelope. The snails are watercolored with Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Hybrid ink on watercolour paper and then fussy cut.

The grass is die cut with the Picket Fence Slim Line Tall Grass Die and layered over a cloud background inked with KKS hybrid ink.

The image on the envelope is coloured with Zebra Zensations Colored Pencils.
